This model is an example of an armed pinnace boat used by the British Navy. Pinnace boats were used by multiple navies throughout the 19th<\/sup> century and were also carried by merchant ships. This particular launch was armed with naval guns of different types; in the bow section a cannon was installed while in the stern two more small cannons were placed to be aimed by hand.<\/p>\n
