As the Joffre saw service through two world wars it gives scope for additional detailing and a wartime paint scheme.<\/p>\n<p> <strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p> <strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p> Ardrossan Dry Dock &#038; Shipbuilding Co Ltd completed the Joffre Tug Boat after launching the build in 1915. The ship was first used for Admiralty service as a rescue boat. In 1925, whilst sailing from Falmouth to Antwerp she encountered heavy fog and came ashore. The repairs carried out in Falmouth as a result of this cost in excess of ?3,000 in 1925. The Joffre suffered further damages when she was run down around the South Shields area in 1953.
