Les fabricants de navires de toute l\u0092Europe firent l\u0092exp\u00e9rience d\u0092une forte demande pendant le 18<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> et le 19<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle, car de nombreux pays europ\u00e9ens \u00e9tablissaient des colonies un peu partout dans le monde et construisaient des routes commerciales plus importantes.<\/p>\n<p>De m\u00eame, la population en plein essor, des pays tels que la France, \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s demandeuse de ressources dans toute l\u0092Europe. Par cons\u00e9quent, les navires comme La Rose \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cieux pour garantir le d\u00e9veloppement continu des nations europ\u00e9ennes. Le d\u00e9riveur n\u00e9erlandais, pour la p\u00eache aux harengs, a d\u0092abord \u00e9tait construit dans les ann\u00e9es 1500 et \u00e9tait un navire de p\u00eache parfait. La taille du navire lui permettait de contenir un \u00e9quipage de dix-huit \u00e0 trente hommes. Sa grande voile latine et son poids de d\u00e9placement de 60 \u00e0 100 tonnes lui permettait de transporter de lourdes charges tout en \u00e9tant tr\u00e8s man\u009cuvrable.
