The Helsinki International Boat Show, Vene 26 Båt, has recorded a significant resurgence in attendance for 2026, welcoming nearly 55,000 visitors and returning to its 2024 participation levels. Widely regarded as Europe’s second-largest indoor boat show after boot Düsseldorf, the event once again proved its importance to the European marine industry.
Held from 6–15 February 2026 at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, the ten-day exhibition showcased products for boating, fishing, and watersports. A total of 400 boats were on display, the majority representing Finnish brands, alongside 288 exhibiting companies.
Attendance Rebounds After 2025 Dip
Organisers noted that 2025 attendance was down by approximately 10,000 visitors due to overlapping dates with the Helsinki Outdoor & Hunting Fair. While the two events are set to run in parallel again in 2027, this year’s recovery signals renewed consumer confidence and strong industry engagement.
According to event organisers, the show continues to receive praise from both domestic and international visitors, many of whom are impressed by the breadth and diversity of the exhibition. A number of boats exhibited in Helsinki travel directly from boot Düsseldorf, further strengthening the event’s international stature.
Finnish Marine Industry Shows Resilience
Despite recent economic challenges impacting consumer purchasing power, Finland’s leisure marine sector is showing cautious signs of recovery. The strong participation from Finnish manufacturers demonstrates confidence in the market and a commitment to presenting new innovations to a broad audience.
During the show, the European Boating Industry officially launched the Baltic Sea Boating Forum — a new initiative designed to foster dialogue between policymakers, marine businesses, and industry stakeholders on issues affecting boating in the Baltic Sea region.
Major Highlights from the Show
Among the standout exhibitors was Nord Star, which presented two large cruisers, including a 49ft luxury yacht built in Kokkola. The vessels attracted substantial attention, drawing thousands of visitors onboard. While around 10% of the company’s annual production remains in Finland, the majority is exported internationally — with notable interest this year from Estonia.
Another major highlight was the Predacast 430 Striker, which won the public vote for Fishing Boat of the Show. Designed by Mika Kärkkäinen, the aluminium-hulled fishing boat is built for demanding use and reflects the continued emphasis on Finnish craftsmanship and production.
International interest was also evident, particularly from Sweden and Estonia, further reinforcing the show’s growing cross-border appeal.
