الوصف

The Endeavour XL ship model by OMH is a magnificent replica of the yacht that won the America’s Cup in 1934. Crafted with exceptional attention to detail, this is a tribute to the remarkable sailing vessel and the team of sailors who led it to victory.

The Endeavour XL yacht was designed by naval architect Olin Stephens and built by the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company in Bristol, Rhode Island, USA. The yacht was commissioned by Sir T.O.M. Sopwith, a British aviation pioneer and yachtsman, to challenge the American defender for the coveted America’s Cup trophy. The yacht was named after Sopwith’s previous yacht, Endeavour, which narrowly missed out on the America’s Cup in 1930.

The Endeavour XL yacht was a marvel of engineering and design, with a sleek hull and towering mast. It was also fitted with the latest technology of the time, including hydraulic winches and a rotating mast. The yacht’s innovative design allowed it to reach incredible speeds, making it a formidable opponent in the America’s Cup races.

OMH’s Endeavour XL accurately captures the yacht’s striking features and intricate details. The replica is handcrafted from the finest materials, including exotic woods and brass fittings.

The Endeavour XL is not an RC model, but rather a stunning display piece that captures the spirit and history of the original yacht. It is a must-have for sailing enthusiasts, history buffs, and anyone who appreciates fine craftsmanship. It comes fully assembled and ready to display on a sturdy base with a brass nameplate.

In summary, the Endeavour XL by OMH is a breathtaking tribute to the legendary yacht that won the America’s Cup in 1934. Its exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and historical significance make it a standout piece that is sure to impress.

Our readymade models are built by specialist artisan partners using a combination of traditional woodworking techniques and modern manufacturing methods, including CNC machining, laser cutting, and 3D printing. This blend of craftsmanship and technology allows for high levels of detail and consistency across our range. Every piece is inspected for quality before dispatch.

Our readymade models are constructed from a combination of materials depending on the model and manufacturer. The hull and main structural components are typically built from wood – commonly lime, walnut, or mahogany – while masts, spars, and finer structural elements use a mix of wood and metal. Rigging is made from thread or cord, and smaller fittings such as cannons, anchors, and deck hardware are usually cast in metal or formed from resin. Some components may also incorporate laser-cut or 3D-printed parts where precision detailing is required. Display bases and name plaques are generally finished in wood with brass or metal hardware.
